These are the universal restrictions that apply to every ethicalDeal (unless specifically contradicted in the Feature Fine Print):
- Voucher not valid until the day after the deal closes
- Not valid for cash back (unless required by law)
- Must use in one visit
- Doesn't cover tax, gratuity, shipping/handling
- Can't be combined with other offers
Below are the most frequently asked questions we receive about ethicalDeals. These answers apply to all ethicalDeals unless otherwise stated in the Feature Fine Print.
How will I know that my ethicalDeal was successfully purchased?
You will receive an email saying that your purchase was successful and the ethicalDeal will appear in 'My Purchases'. If it still shows as pending then the deal hasn't tipped yet and your credit card hasn't been charged. As soon as the deal tips, your credit card is charged, and your ethicalDeal is available to print in 'My Purchases.' Once your card is charged you'll also get an email with a receipt for your purchase.
What happens after I buy?
Once you’re charged, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to login to your account to print your ethicalDeal Voucher. This Voucher has all the info you need to redeem it.
If the deal hasn't been activated yet, your email confirmation will arrive when it does. If the deal doesn't get the minimum number of buyers before time runs out, your card isn't charged and nobody gets the deal.
Do I need to use the ethicalDeal Voucher the same day I buy it?
Buy now, use later! You can use most ethicalDeals the day after the deal closes – unless otherwise specified in the Feature Fine Print.
Grocery Pick-Up Deals are valid the week after the promotion closes. You'll receive an email indicating that your ethicalDeal groceries are available for pick-up on the valid date.
When does my ethicalDeal expire?
Check the Feature Fine Print for the exact expiry date. Here are general expiry guidelines:
You have at least 3 months to use local deals at restaurants, spas, yoga classes etc.
You have 2 weeks to redeem deals for online products.
You have 1 week to redeem grocery deals that need to be picked-up from a retailer.
What if I don’t end up using the full value of my ethicalDeal in my first visit, can I use the rest later?
No. Unless otherwise stated in the Feature Fine Print, the Voucher is one-time use only. So go all out and stock up or bring a friend and share in the fun!
Can I buy an ethicalDeal as a gift for someone else?
Of course! Unless the Feature Fine Print states otherwise, gift away!
Simply select the gift option at checkout, which allows you to email the Voucher directly to the lucky recipient or if you want to keep it a surprise, simply choose the print option, and give it as a gift in person!
My name is on the ethicalDeal. Can I still use it as a gift?
Don't worry if your name is on the ethicalDeal - as long as the Voucher number hasn't been used yet, your friend won't have a problem.
The Fine Print says "Limit 1 per person" and "May buy multiple as gifts." Can I buy some ethicalDeals as gifts to myself and use more than one?
No. If the Fine Print say this, you can only redeem one. If you buy more than one then you have to give them away as gifts to other people.
How much should I tip when I redeem my ethicalDeal?
Please tip on the full amount of the pre-discounted bill.
What happens if my ethicalDeal expires?
Any restrictions, including the expiry date will be stated on the Voucher and on the Feature page under "Fine Print." The expiry date is binding unless prohibited by law.
Can I return an ethicalDeal?
General refund policy:
ethicalDeal will provide a refund if you change your mind within 5 days after you've purchased your Voucher, and want to "return" the unused Voucher. We will also provide a refund if you are unable to redeem a Voucher because the Merchant has gone out of business. Please email us at email@example.com to request your refund - please quote your voucher number found in the top right hand corner of your voucher with the deal name and your account's email address.
ethicalDeal Grocery Pick-Up refund policy:
You can request a refund anytime during the 7 day promotional period; however, once the deal has closed, we can no longer offer a refund as the product has been shipped to the retailer for you to pick-up. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request your refund - please quote your voucher number found in the top right hand corner of your voucher with the deal name and your account's email address. If you have quality concerns please email with pictures and a description that details your concern and we'll contact the manufacturer for a full refund.
