What is ethicalDeal?

How do I get today’s ethicalDeal?
Simply click “BUY” before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of buyers is reached to activate the group discount then we’ll charge your card and email you a link to print your ethicalDeal. If the minimum isn’t reached then no one gets it (and you won’t be charged) so invite your friends to make sure you get the deal!
What happens if there aren’t enough buyers to activate the deal?
The deal is cancelled and your card won’t be charged. To prevent this, share the deal with your tree hugging friends and corporate comrades – nothing but good karma here!
Besides good karma do I get any $$$ for sharing ethicalDeals with my friends?
Yes! If you invite a friend using your referral code then we'll credit your account with $5 ethicalDollars when they make their first purchase. So go ahead and share your unique referral link found on the Refer a Friend page via email, Facebook, and Twitter!
What are ethicalDollars?
They’re our currency to spend on ethicalDeals! They’re valid towards any ethicalDeal purchase and never expire. You can check your balance by logging into your account and clicking on My ethicalDollars.
Can I invite as many people as I want?
Yes!
I received invites from 3 people – do they all get $5 ethicalDollars?
No, only the last code you click on before making your first purchase will get rewarded “... Eeny, meeny, miny, moe ...”
What happens after I buy?
Once you’re charged, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to login to your account to print your ethicalDeal Voucher. This Voucher has all the info you need to redeem it.
If the deal hasn't been activated yet, your email confirmation will arrive when it does. If the deal doesn't get the minimum number of buyers before time runs out, your card isn't charged and nobody gets the deal.
When do I get charged?
You only get charged if the minimum number of buyers required to activate the deal is reached.
Do I need to use the ethicalDeal Voucher the same day I buy it?
Buy now, use later! You can use most ethicalDeals the day after the deal closes, unless otherwise specified in the Feature Details.
Grocery Pick-Up Deals are valid 10 days after the promotion closes. You'll receive an email indicating that your ethicalDeal groceries are available for pick-up on the valid date.
When do ethicalDeals expire?
Check the Feature Details for the exact expiry date. For most deals you have at least a couple months to use your voucher with the exception of grocery pick-up deals. You have 10 days to redeem grocery deals that need to be picked-up from a retailer. We do issue expiry reminder emails one month before your deal expires. If your deal is still marked as unused in your my purchases we'll give you one more nudge a week before it expires.
Can I buy an ethicalDeal as a gift for someone else?
Of course! Unless the Feature Details states otherwise, gift away! Simply select the gift option at checkout to email or print your gift Voucher.
What happens if I buy an ethicalDeal as a gift?
When you buy an ethicalDeal as a gift and choose to email it, an email will be sent to the recipient as soon as your card is charged, with the ethicalDeal Voucher for them to print off. If you choose to keep your gift a surprise and print it, you'll be able to do that in 'My Gifts' once your card has been charged.
My name is on the ethicalDeal. Can I still use it as a gift?
Yep. As long as the Voucher number hasn't been used, your friend won't have a problem using it.
Is ethicalDeal safe?
Yes. Your credit card information is sent via SSL encryption to a secure electronic vault, at no time is it stored on our servers.
What if I don’t end up using the full value of my ethicalDeal in my first visit, can I use the rest later?
No. Unless otherwise stated in the Details of Feature, the Voucher is one-time use only. So go all out and stock up or bring a friend and share in the fun!
Can I combine my ethicalDeal with any other special offers?
Now that would be too good to be true!
What happens if my ethicalDeal expires?
Any restrictions, including the expiry date will be stated on the Voucher and on the Feature page under "Details." The expiry date is binding unless prohibited by law.
Can I return an ethicalDeal?
General refund policy:
ethicalDeal will provide a refund if you change your mind within 5 days after you've purchased your Voucher, and want to "return" the unused Voucher. We will also provide a refund if you are unable to redeem a Voucher because the Merchant has gone out of business. To request your refund please email us at support@ethicaldeal.com. Please quote your voucher number found in the top right hand corner of your voucher with the deal name, and your account's email address.
Grocery Pick-Up refund policy:
You can request a refund anytime during the 7 day promotional period; however, once the deal has closed, we can no longer offer a refund as the product has been shipped to the retailer for you to pick-up. If you have quality concerns please email support@ethicalDeal.com with pictures and a description that details your concern and we'll contact the manufacturer for a full refund. To request your refund please email us at support@ethicaldeal.com. Please quote your voucher number found in the top right hand corner of your voucher with the deal name, and your account's email address.
Our goal is 100% satisfaction. If you have had an unsatisfactory experience let us know at support@ethicalDeal.com. While we do not guarantee a refund except as noted above, we will try to address your concerns.
What if the business for my ethicalDeal closes down?
No worries, we got you covered. If you are unable to redeem a Voucher before the applicable expiration of the Voucher because the relevant Merchant has gone out of business, then email us for a refund at support@ethicalDeal.com. Please quote your voucher number found in the top right hand corner of your voucher with the deal name, and your account's email address.

Why do you only feature one ethicalDeal per day?
We like to keep things simple and make it easy to go green! Too many choices can make things overwhelming. Hang with us for a week and you’ll find something that’s impossible to refuse.
