Deal Description

Fishing on your lunch break is a tight squeeze. Have a fresh street-side picnic with today’s ethicalDeal: for $10 you get $20 to spend on Ocean Wise certified seafood, local and organic fare at The Kaboom Box, a street vendor located at the corner of Granville & Robson. Buy two ethicalDeals and take the team to lunch.

The Kaboom Box is a bright red mobile food cart run by Andy, a family man with a history that includes serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa and his Chef Brian, the resident movie expert. Passionate about bringing Ocean Wise seafood to the streets of Vancouver, they’re committed to the best ingredients they can find. This means your lunch is made to order, seasonal, mostly organic and sustainably produced. Their packaging is also biodegradable and compostable! Our favourite is the Hot Smoked Salmon “Salmwich” ($7.14), the most famous hand held salmon we’ve heard of. Hot smoked right on the cart, the salmon is locally caught, wild and Ocean Wise certified. Add a whole-wheat bun, spicy mayo, maple-mustard slaw and you’ll be the boss’ favourite if you come back with an extra order. Try the Fish & Chips ($8.93), the handmade Veggie Burger available with a vegan option ($6.25) or the always changing salads. Add fries for $1.79, they’re crispy and delicious.

Escape the boredom of re-heated leftovers with today’s ethicalDeal.

"Things I loved: Sustainable and Ocean wise fare! Locally sourced ingredients. Super friendly service. Good prices for what I would class as cafe/restaurant quality food ($11 including HST for the Oyster Po-Boy and side of Poutine) Tasty, tasty, tasty!"
