What better way to experience a crisp, Vancouver morning than with some hot chocolate… on a stick. Yes, you read correctly – hot chocolate on a stick. As soon as I heard about this I needed to try it, so I set off to The Juice Truck!
For those of you who have never stopped by, The Juice Truck is one of Vancouver’s many local food trucks nestled on Abbott near Water street. It squeezes, presses and blends a bevy of healthy offerings and supports local produce and organic farming practices. Their newest item – just in time for the holiday season – is hot chocolate on stick.
What is Hot Chocolate on a Stick?
- 1 chocolate square made of 65% ethically sourced cocoa from Beta 5
- 1 cup of steamed almond milk
- 1-2 min. of stirring depending on your chocolate preferences, obviously stirring for longer ups the chocolaty goodness
Instead of just explaining to you how it works, I think the best way to convey the hot chocolate on a stick experience is through this short video:

Overall, I think this is a great way to partner with local suppliers to innovate an old favourite, so the next time you have a hot chocolate craving, try hot chocolate on a stick!
‘Til next time,
Mac at ethicalDeal
